Structure Design & Engineering was founded in 2001 by Michael Griffin, P.E. who previously worked as VP of engineering for various design build firms and has over 42 years of experience ranging from offshore mooring construction to tension fabric structures and various specialty structures. Michael is an engineer of record for over 700 projects in the US and around the world making him one of the few experts in exposed structural steel and cable specialty structures. As the Principal of Structure Design & Engineering, LLC Michael holds professional engineering licenses in: California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, Michigan, Texas, New Mexico, and New Jersey.


Kirill Voronov, S.E., P.E. joined the leadership team of Structure Design & Engineering in 2011 as a Senior Engineer. Kirill has over 10 years of engineering experience and previously worked as a project engineer for a major structural engineering firm specializing in conventional construction, seismic design, and retrofits. He holds structural and civil professional engineering licenses in the states of California, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Minnesota, New York, and Tennessee.


Today, we mainly specialize in design and engineering of tension fabric structures and other specialty structures. However, our broad experience in various types of construction allows us to go beyond that providing: foundation and anchorage design of specialty structures, evaluation of the existing and new structures for the effects of forces exerted on them by various specialty structures, peer reviews, and general conventional construction. We work with a variety of construction materials that include steel, concrete, tensioned fabric, cables, masonry, wood, and light gage. The employees of Structure Design and Engineering are skilled in performing nonlinear, linear, static, and dynamic analysis using current U.S. and international building codes.
